Greetings!
So my wife and I recently moved into a new home and I have quite a bit of garage space to play with! Our previous home had a 2 car garage with 540 sqft, but the new 2+1 has just over 720 sqft!
Plans for the garage include:
- Flourescent fixtures throughout
- Workbench (design and build)
- Cabinetry on French cleats
- One day…epoxy
- Wall storage ideas for larger items (wheelbarrow, recycling tubs, kid bike trailer, etc)
Below is the SketchUp I made for planning everything out. Still a lot left to add in here.
The previous owner left his 4×8 pegboard, so that will be filled up and organized.
However, he never added any lights, so the entire thing is lit by 2 60W incandescent bulbs! You can see from the CAD that there will be eight 8ft 4-bulb fluorescent fixtures.

Getting all the parts for the fixtures!
The current round ceiling fixture had two two whites, two reds, and a green attached to the current incandescent fixture.
I was able to sketch a rough diagram of the wiring for the first two fixtures:
And after getting some free time, two of the fixtures are up!
